A campaign was established by Protect Palestine to demand that state parties to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation [OIC] establish a military force to stop the Gaza genocide, ensure unhindered aid, protect civilians and guarantee the Palestinian right to self-determination.

The campaign urged states to comply with their own commitments made in the founding Charter of the OIC, which states:

The OIC Charter affirms its unwavering commitment to “Support the Palestinian people in their struggle to regain their rights and to liberate their land and to establish their national independent sovereignty and state.” (Article 1, Clause 7)

Following a call made across social media, hundreds of people worldwide took action to demand that the OIC states take action at the meeting of Senior Officials on 27-29th April 2025.

Protect Palestine can confirm that over 1,000 emails were sent and sources within the diplomatic community at the OIC have informed the campaign that the emails were received and caught the attention of attendees to the meeting.

The call for a mililtary force to stop the Gaza genocide is now on the international agenda with states discussing modes and methods of conducting a military intervention.
