Israel’s Extermination Project: Prof. Mazin Qumsiyeh from Occupied Bethlehem

We were honoured to be joined live from Bethlehem, occupied Palestine, by Prof. Mazin Qumsiyeh. He spoke about Israel as a violent settler-colonial enterprise bent on exterminating not only the Palestinian people, but also Palestinian life, culture, and even the natural world. Prof. Qumsiyeh reminded us that this extermination process is not theoretical or distant — it is unfolding in real time. Every single day, Israel escalates its assault, murdering Palestinians in pursuit of its project of total annihilation. His intervention grounded the workshop in the stark reality of ongoing genocide.

Confronting Genocide and the Psychology of Liberation

The speakers cut straight to the heart of the issue: the extermination of the Palestinian people is not only a crime against humanity under international law but also an assault on the conscience of the world. States, organisations, and people’s movements must now mobilise a military intervention to stop the imminent annihilation of the Palestinian people by the genocidal state of Israel.

Susan Abulhawa delivered a powerful analysis of the psychology of liberation, drawing upon the works of Frantz Fanon and others to emphasise the necessity of violent rupture to break the cycle of domination by the oppressor. She reminded us that liberation is never granted freely by a coloniser; it must be seized. She also spoke about the Palestinian struggle being also deeply personal struggle for all those in support of Palestine to liberate ourselves from internalised oppression and become fully human.

Dr. Maung Zarni made it clear that the call to protect Palestine is, in essence, a call to fight Israel. He drew chilling comparisons with the Pakistani genocide of Bangladeshis and the Cambodian genocide, underlining that genocide has only ever been stopped through armed resistance and external intervention. His words drove home the urgency of organising effective military solidarity with Palestine.

Political and Legal Strategies for Intervention

Both Craig Mokhiber and Prof. Richard Falk explored political and legal avenues for breaking the impasse, including the use of the Uniting for Peace Resolution at the UN General Assembly as a mechanism to establish an international military force when the Security Council fails to act. The workshop made clear: Israel does not hold sovereignty in Palestine. This means the Palestinian authorities have the right to request direct military intervention to repel the aggressor and force Israel’s compliance with international law.

Voices from Gaza and Global Solidarity

The most moving moments came from our Palestinian brothers and sisters, some who joined us live from Gaza, offering harrowing testimonies of the extermination process they are enduring. Their courage, steadfastness and clarity strengthened our collective call for immediate international military intervention.

We were also honoured to be joined by iglobal voices of conscience and action, including Dr. Jill Stein, leader of the U.S. Green Party, Sam Husseini, American writer, journlist and activst and Dr. Ralph Wilde, international law scholar. But we emphasid that each individual in this movement is crucial, and we stand together as grassroots activists from across the world who have reached the same conclusion: the world must not sit idle. We must act decisively to mobilise military force now.

The Call to Action: Mobilise Now

This workshop was not just about analysis. It was a rallying cry. The time has come for peoples and states around the world to join the struggle of the Palestinian armed resistance. We must mobilise armies, navies, and military resources to Palestine to break the siege, stop the genocide, and bring an end to Zionist occupation and apartheid across all of historic Palestine.

History will not forgive inaction. Just as apartheid in South Africa was crushed through global solidarity and direct resistance, so too must the machinery of Zionist oppression be dismantled. Palestine calls, and the world must finally answer by joining the fight and deploying armed resistance against Israel NOW.
